Ensete ventricosum, usually called the False Banana, Ethiopian Banana, or Abyssinian Banana is a plant in the genus Ensete which is related to Bananas. Ensete ventricosum's name was first published 1948 in Kew Bull. 1947, p. 101. Its synonyms include Musa arnoldiana De Wild., Musa ventricosa Welw. or Musa ensete J. F. Gmel. [1]
Native to Africa, the Ensete ventricosum is a large plant usually growing to 6m in height.[2]
